Recruiting, communicating with, developing, and managing various volunteer teams. Liaising with the various event day teams throughout the planning period as well as on the day to ensure that enough volunteers are available and suitably assigned.
This is a year-round volunteering role.
Using a pre-agreed budget and sponsorship deals to resource and manage the catering for volunteers during set-up week, across the weekend and during take-down.
Requires people that are self-motivated and have the success of the Ampthill Big Tent Weekend clearly in their focus, the ability to work independently as well as being part of a team.
For all or part of the two weeks around the event weekend. Helping set up/take down tents, concession stands, and more. This can be physical work!

Providing refreshments for volunteers during set-up week, across the weekend and for take-down. Making drinks and serving refreshments and ensuring everything is well stocked, whilst maintaining high levels of cleanliness.
Manning Welfare HQ where all volunteers, security and first aid staff, concessions, artists, and any other visitors are required to sign in and collect wristbands and any specific equipment . Hi-Viz jackets and radios are issued/collected/stored/re-charged here at the end of each day. May be required to stand in for volunteers in any of the other teams or become a runner.
A team of volunteers needed to direct traffic, collect parking fees where applicable and assist with parking.
Scanning, issuing wristbands and ensuring that everyone gets through security in a timely manner. Entrance volunteers need to be cool-headed and able to communicate effectively to attendees if there is a problem.
Throughout the year answering online queries and on event days.
Handling of ticket queries and handling enquiries on event days.
Volunteer runners to fill in the gaps or even take over a role for a no-show volunteer.
A team of information / ambassador volunteers to help attendees find what they are looking for.
This role requires liaison and management of the relationship of the PRM process throughout the build up to the Ampthill Big Tent Weekend, during and after the Ampthill Big Tent Weekend, to ensure all PRM requests and needs are addressed and handled to a satisfactory conclusion.
The ideal person has a high level of understanding of PRM including all disabilities, sensitivity and good relationship building and customer service skills. Regular review meetings required with the Event Management Team
